Hitachi and Intel Form Strategic Collaboration on Physical AI and Advanced Computing
Hitachi and Intel Corporation announced in a press release a strategic collaboration to accelerate physical AI, advanced computing, and digital infrastructure across manufacturing, energy, mobility, and other critical industries.
The partnership will combine Hitachi's information and operational technology with Intel's computing and silicon platforms to develop new compute capabilities and industry solutions. The companies will cooperate across five areas: foundry tools, quantum computing, energy optimization, custom silicon, and edge AI applications.
In semiconductor manufacturing, Hitachi will use high precision data from its ExTOPE platform to support predictive diagnostics and process optimization. For quantum computing, both companies will strengthen joint research to advance quantum technologies. In energy optimization, Hitachi's HMAX Energy will be used within Intel's fabrication plants, while Intel will provide high voltage silicon chips to enhance Hitachi's power systems.
The collaboration also includes work on custom silicon and factory automation, focusing on integrating advanced computing and AI technologies to improve industrial efficiency and resilience.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
