HoundDog.ai Launches Privacy-Focused Code Scanner for AI

Aug 22, 2025
HoundDog.ai has announced the release of its privacy-by-design static code scanner, aimed at identifying privacy risks in AI applications, according to a press release.

HoundDog.ai has announced the general availability of its privacy-by-design static code scanner, specifically designed to address privacy risks in AI applications. In a press release, the company highlighted the tool's ability to help teams catch privacy violations in AI prompts and code before they reach production, thereby reducing compliance risks.

The updated platform enables security and privacy teams to enforce guardrails on sensitive data embedded in large language model (LLM) prompts or exposed in high-risk AI data sinks, such as logs and temporary files. This proactive approach allows organizations to detect and prevent sensitive data exposures before code is deployed.

HoundDog.ai's scanner identifies unintentional mistakes by developers or AI-generated code that could expose sensitive data, including personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI). It has been adopted by numerous Fortune 1000 organizations across various sectors, scanning over 20,000 code repositories to date.

The platform's new capabilities include automatic detection of AI integrations, tracing sensitive data flows, blocking unapproved data types, and generating audit-ready reports. These features aim to provide comprehensive privacy enforcement and compliance with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and HIPAA.
