Huawei introduced its Intelligent WAN Target Architecture for internet service providers at a September 17 roundtable during HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai, the company said in a press release. The proposal addresses network changes linked to AI agents, including more uplink traffic and demand for assurance across complete agent workflows.

The architecture has three pillars. These cover a hierarchical and modular network that combines IP and optical systems, user experience assurance with measurable network capabilities, and automated operations using AI tools.

The operations tools include Network Digital Map, a fault locating agent, and an AI assistant. Lintasarta Indonesia, SiliconFlow China, and Telconet Ecuador also presented information about their AI services and network deployments at the event.
