IGEL and Zscaler Release Healthcare Security Blueprints for Distributed Care
IGEL and Zscaler have released new healthcare security blueprints to help medical organizations secure distributed care delivery environments. The announcement was made at HIMSS26 Europe in Copenhagen and announced in a press release on May 20, 2026.
The blueprints combine IGEL's immutable endpoint operating system, Universal Management Suite, and App Portal with Zscaler's identity and policy based access controls provided through the Zero Trust Exchange platform. They are designed to help healthcare providers protect patient data and maintain operational continuity across clinics, remote workflows, and recovery environments.
Three main use cases are covered: secure access to isolated recovery environments during cyber incidents, a standardized access model for distributed clinics, and secure remote access for clinicians. Each blueprint focuses on reducing reliance on VPN based access and minimizing data persistence on endpoints.
The Isolated Recovery Environment Access Blueprint supports restoring operations by ensuring endpoints return to a trusted state. The Distributed Clinics Blueprint offers a consistent model for outpatient and imaging sites, while the Remote Clinician Access Blueprint extends the same controls to healthcare professionals working remotely.
The IGEL and Zscaler Healthcare Blueprints are available now for healthcare organizations seeking to strengthen endpoint security and access management in distributed care settings.
