iGenius Unveils Colosseum AI Data Center in Italy
iGenius has launched Colosseum, one of the world's largest sovereign AI data centers, in collaboration with Vertiv and NVIDIA. Announced in a press release, the facility is set to deploy in 2025 in southern Italy, targeting highly regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, and public administration.
Colosseum is powered by NVIDIA DGX AI supercomputers and utilizes Vertiv's infrastructure management expertise. The data center is designed to offer a fusion of computational power, energy efficiency, and data sovereignty, while meeting stringent data security requirements. This initiative marks a significant milestone in Europe's AI landscape, providing a template for scalable, repeatable AI factories globally.
The deployment leverages Vertiv's 360AI reference architecture for data center power and cooling, designed for the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72. This modular and scalable system positions iGenius to deploy one of the fastest hyperscale AI supercomputers, supporting sovereign AI at scale. The collaboration also includes the use of NVIDIA Omniverse technologies for real-time simulations, enabling efficient design and deployment processes.
