Infosys Develops AI Agent to Optimize Energy Sector Operations

Nov 11, 2025
Infosys has introduced an AI agent designed to enhance operational efficiency in the energy sector. The solution combines Infosys Topaz, Infosys Cobalt, and Microsoft’s AI and cloud tools to automate reporting and improve decision-making.

Infosys has developed an AI agent aimed at improving workflows in the energy sector, announced in a press release. The solution integrates Infosys Topaz, Infosys Cobalt, and Microsoft’s AI and cloud capabilities, including Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, Foundry Models, and ChatGPT-4o.

The AI agent automates report generation and converts real-time operational data into actionable insights through conversational AI. It processes various data types such as well logs, images, charts, and tables to help operators anticipate challenges, minimize delays, and improve safety and reliability.

According to Infosys, the system enhances decision-making by providing predictive insights and early warnings, ultimately improving drilling quality, operational performance, and reducing non-productive time. Microsoft’s partner development vice president Stephen Boyle said the collaboration combines deep industry expertise with advanced AI and cloud technologies to deliver measurable business value.

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
