Innoviz and Cogniteam Integrate LiDAR and AI for Drone Detection Module

Jul 7, 2026
Innoviz Technologies and Cogniteam have partnered to launch a Counter-UAS perception module that combines LiDAR sensing with AI analytics for accurate drone detection and classification.

Innoviz Technologies and Cogniteam have introduced a Counter-UAS perception module that integrates LiDAR and AI analytics, announced in a press release. The system is designed for use in perimeter protection, border surveillance, and critical infrastructure security.

The module combines Innoviz's 3D LiDAR sensors with Cogniteam's perception software to enable detection, localization, tracking, and classification of drones. It builds on the companies' previous joint work with the ClearZone platform, which has been deployed in high-security environments.

Cogniteam's analytics engine processes spatial and temporal data from Innoviz sensors to distinguish among drones, birds, and other airborne objects. The system evaluates object morphology, motion, and flight behavior to minimize false alarms and provide reliable alerts.

The module can be integrated into existing security architectures and is intended for deployment by system integrators, defense contractors, and security providers such as Drive Group’s subsidiary Barak555. It leverages Innoviz’s LiDAR precision and Cogniteam’s analytic software to support scalable counter-drone and critical infrastructure protection systems.
