Instinct Product Recommendations Draw User Complaints
Instinct is rolling out personalized recommendations through a feature called Instinct Selections, according to TechCrunch. The feature covers areas including restaurants, travel and shopping.
Founder Noah Shinn said Instinct will work with chefs, designers, architects and travel guides to provide human curated suggestions. The company did not identify its partners.
Some users reported receiving product suggestions they had not requested, including luggage, sunglasses and hats. One user said Instinct based recommendations on information in email and upcoming trips. Instinct did not say whether it earns money from the recommendations or plans to do so.
