September 11, 2026
Intermezzo raised $10 million to develop a global payroll platform that uses AI agents to convert local payroll requirements into structured software rules.

Intermezzo raised $10 million to build its global payroll platform, the company said in an announcement. Investors include Crosslink Capital, UKG Ventures, CloudPay, Character Capital, Behind Genius Ventures, and angel investors.

The platform provides a single API that lets human capital management platforms, employer of record providers, and payroll bureaus add international payroll to their products. Its payroll engine handles country specific calculations, tax filings, compliance reports, payslips, and accounting system synchronization.

Intermezzo uses AI agents to extract payroll requirements from source documents and convert them into structured, machine readable rules. The company says its system can calculate gross to net pay in real time and reduce a 20 day payroll cycle to 24 hours, with accuracy above 99%.
