Island Roadhouse Plans 154 MW Atomic Powered AI Data Center in Missouri
Island Roadhouse Data Centers detailed in a press release plans for a low water AI data center campus in Missouri. The site will generate power behind the meter using advanced atomic reactors in an N+1 configuration, with no power exports to the grid.
The planned data halls will use closed loop warm water direct to chip liquid cooling and dry heat rejection. An indirect closed supercritical carbon dioxide Brayton cycle will convert reactor heat into electricity. The campus will also include thermal energy storage and a metered network that can provide waste heat to third party users, but no grid scale battery is planned.
Phase 1 will offer up to 154 MW of IT capacity and targets commercial operation in 2034. A second phase is included in the campus plan. Customers will provide and operate their own computing equipment, while Island Roadhouse will sell long term data center capacity and facility services.
