KDDI and DriveNets Partner for Open Network Architecture
KDDI Corporation and DriveNets Ltd. have signed a strategic partnership to accelerate the adoption of open network architecture, as announced in a press release. DriveNets software will be deployed in KDDI's commercial backbone network by the end of 2025 to support the growing data demands of the AI era.
The agreement focuses on expanding the deployment of disaggregated routers, which separate hardware and software, to improve management efficiency and optimize capital investment and operating costs. KDDI plans to implement the DriveNets Network Cloud solution in backbone core routers at four key locations.
This collaboration aims to build a flexible network architecture that can quickly adapt to changing market conditions and technological advancements, meeting the increasing data demands driven by AI technologies.
