King Charles to Host AI Leaders for Safety Talks
King Charles will host executives from major AI companies this week to discuss shared principles for the technology, Reuters reports. Representatives from NVIDIA, Google DeepMind, OpenAI and Anthropic will attend alongside British AI Minister Kanishka Narayan.
The meeting will cover how AI can benefit society while protecting human dignity. Expected attendees include NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, Google DeepMind chairman Demis Hassabis and Vatican AI adviser Paolo Benanti.
The gathering follows Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei's call for AI companies to slow capability development. Anthropic also recently published a threat report describing the use of Claude models for weapons work, cyber operations, surveillance and fraud.
