Kong outlines AI governance roadmap for Konnect

Kong detailed a roadmap in a press release for adding AI governance and management capabilities to its Konnect platform. The company presented the plans at its API + AI Summit on September 30.

Planned products include a Webhook Engine for delivering events to applications and AI agents, and Registry & Catalog for discovering and managing agents and Model Context Protocol assets. New AI Gateway cost tools will track spending sources, while Advanced AI Observability will show interactions across AI conversations.

Token Vault will give agents access to authorized APIs, models, data and other resources without exposing credentials directly to them. Context Mesh will connect agents with enterprise tools and APIs based on each task. Kong did not provide release dates for the planned capabilities.
