Laminar was selected for the second cohort of L'Oreal's L'AcceleratOR sustainability program, the company said in a press release. It is one of 13 startups chosen from nearly 1,000 applicants across more than 100 countries.

Laminar will work with L'Oreal and the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership on pilot projects. The projects will test Laminar's Process-Aware Autonomy technology at beauty and other process manufacturing facilities, with a focus on reducing water, chemical and energy use.

The system combines inline sensors that measure fluid conditions in real time, AI models that interpret manufacturing processes and software that tracks resource savings. Laminar says the technology operates across hundreds of production lines on six continents.
