Landis+Gyr Joins EPRI's Open Power AI Consortium to Advance Grid AI Applications
Landis+Gyr has joined EPRI's Open Power AI Consortium to collaborate on artificial intelligence applications for the electric power industry, announced in a press release. The company will work with utilities, national laboratories, and technology providers to develop and test AI tools aimed at improving grid efficiency, reliability, and resiliency.
The Open Power AI Consortium focuses on creating open source AI and generative AI models, datasets, and libraries for the electric utility sector. Members also have access to an AI Sandbox for testing and validating use cases before deployment in the field.
Landis+Gyr plans to integrate the consortium's AI resources with its own grid sensing metering platform, Revelo, which streams high resolution data for edge applications. These applications support demand management, asset protection, and distributed energy resource integration. The company said the collaboration will accelerate development of flexibility management and anomaly detection solutions for utility customers.
