Levita Magnetics Achieves AI-Guided Autonomous Surgery Milestone
Levita Magnetics has successfully conducted the world's first AI-guided autonomous gall bladder surgery using its MARS platform at Clínica Las Condes in Santiago, Chile, announced in a press release. This landmark procedure highlights the integration of artificial intelligence in surgical technology, enhancing precision and efficiency.
The MARS platform employs an AI-guided autonomous surgical camera, which reduces the need for manual camera control, providing surgeons with a stable and clear field of vision. This advancement is particularly beneficial in high-volume surgeries like cholecystectomy, where uninterrupted focus is crucial.
Dr. Ricardo Funke, Chief of Surgery at Clínica Las Condes, noted that the AI system autonomously maintains visualization of the surgical field, allowing surgeons to concentrate fully on the procedure. This innovation is expected to improve workflow efficiency, reduce staffing needs, and potentially lower hospital costs while enhancing patient outcomes.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
