Lexcel Introduces AI Operating System for Specialty Insurance
Lexcel announced in a press release an AI operating system that connects submission intake, underwriting and claims for specialty insurers. The platform applies each firm's guidelines and previous decisions to new submissions while leaving final decisions with underwriters.
The system reads broker submissions, checks information against source documents and routes risks using the insurer's appetite rules. Its workbench maintains a single record from submission through binding and claims, while workflow tools draft overviews, quotes and proposed terms with citations to source material.
Underwriters review all work before it is issued. Their decisions become precedent for future submissions, and firms retain control of their rules. Lexcel configures deployments using live business and connects the platform with existing systems. The company says specialty managing general agents are already using it.
