LG CNS Unveils Cold-Resistant Logistics Robot for North American Expansion

April 15, 2026
LG CNS has introduced its Mobile Shuttle logistics robot, capable of operating in subzero temperatures, at MODEX 2026 in Atlanta. The robot is designed for continuous operation in cold storage environments and integrates AI features for real-time optimization and control.

LG CNS has introduced a next-generation logistics robot capable of operating at -15°F (-26°C) in cold storage environments, announced in a press release. The company unveiled the 'Mobile Shuttle' at MODEX 2026 in Atlanta, North America's largest logistics trade show, as part of its ongoing expansion in the region.

The Mobile Shuttle is designed for uninterrupted 24/7 operation and can carry loads up to 3,307 lbs (1,500 kg) while moving through warehouse racks at speeds of 4.9 ft/s (1.5 m/s). Its four-way shuttle architecture allows movement in all directions, increasing flexibility and storage efficiency by over 30% compared to traditional two-way systems.

The robot includes an AI agent that enables operators to issue natural language commands for urgent shipments or troubleshooting. It also uses mathematical optimization to analyze routes and operations in real time, minimizing bottlenecks and improving task allocation across multiple units.

LG CNS has already deployed hundreds of Mobile Shuttles at affiliate plants in North America and secured UL certification for the system. The company recently signed a contract to install a Mobile Shuttle-based logistics automation system at Paris Baguette USA’s Texas facility, supporting subzero sorting and transportation of baking ingredients.
