Linktel Technologies demonstrated 1.6T linear pluggable optics for AI data center networks at the 2026 OCP Global Summit, the company said in a press release. Its 1.6T LPO 2DR4 module consumes as little as 10 watts and removes the optical digital signal processor to reduce latency and component requirements.

Linktel also demonstrated interoperability across multiple switch platforms following tests at the 1.6T LPO MSA Plugfest in September 2026. The company says volume production of its 1.6T modules is underway.

The OCP showcase also included a 12.8T liquid cooled XPO design and 6.4T and 7.2T NPO modules. Linktel presented dispersion managed transceivers for 800G connections over 20 kilometers and 1.6T connections over 10 kilometers.
