MediaTek and Airoha to Show Wi-Fi 8, 50G-PON and 5G-Advanced Platforms
MediaTek and Airoha Technology said in a press release that delivering AI services to users in real time at scale requires upgraded network infrastructure, and will showcase Wi-Fi 8, 50G-PON and 5G-Advanced connectivity platforms built for that purpose at Network X 2026. The event runs from October 13 to 15 in Vienna, Austria.
The companies will present upgrades from Wi-Fi 7 to Wi-Fi 8, XGS-PON to 50G-PON and 5G to 5G-Advanced. The platforms cover fiber access, fixed wireless access, home and business connectivity, and 5G customer premises equipment.
MediaTek and Airoha are combining their PON, 5G CPE and Wi-Fi products for telecom operators. The platforms also support broadband software including OpenWrt, RDK-B and prplOS.
