Medtronic to Invest About $700 Million in Cornerstone Robotics

Medtronic will invest about $700 million in Cornerstone Robotics and gain distribution rights for the Sentire surgical system in selected approved markets outside the United States.

Cornerstone Robotics said in a press release that it has formed a partnership with Medtronic, including a Medtronic investment of about $700 million. Medtronic will also gain rights to distribute Cornerstone Robotics' Sentire™ surgical system in selected markets outside the United States where the system has regulatory approval.

Cornerstone Robotics was founded and is headquartered in Hong Kong. The agreement pairs its surgical robotics system with Medtronic's international distribution network for approved markets covered by the deal.
