Meshy names computer graphics researcher Xin Tong as chief scientist to lead work on 3D foundation models, multimodal world models, and interactive systems.

Meshy names computer graphics researcher Dr. Xin Tong as chief scientist, the company announced in a press release. Tong will lead its long term research strategy, including work on 3D foundation models, multimodal world models, and real time interactive systems.

Tong spent 25 years at Microsoft Research Asia, where he led the Internet Graphics Group and served as partner research manager. He has published more than 190 papers, and his research has been used in Xbox game development technology, Windows 3D printing, and Direct3D.

Meshy is also developing Mora, a system that combines coding agents, 3D generation, and real time video models to create interactive worlds. Its first version, Mora 1, is publicly available through mora.fun.
