Meta is delaying the release of its flagship AI model, Behemoth, due to concerns about its capabilities, . Initially planned for an April release, the launch has been postponed to at least the fall of 2025.

The delay stems from internal challenges in significantly enhancing the model's performance over previous versions. Meta engineers have struggled to achieve improvements that justify a public release, leading to internal debates about the company's substantial AI investments.

Despite public claims that Behemoth outperforms models from competitors like Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI on certain tests, the internal performance has not met expectations. The company has not committed to a new timeline for the rollout, as it continues to address these technical hurdles.

The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
