Hotel software company Mews shared further findings from its survey of traveler preferences for human and AI hotel services, showing that 63% would use AI to monitor room rate drops and 56% would use it for translation. By comparison, 44% would use AI to plan an itinerary and 41% would use it to personalize a hotel room.

The survey found that 57% would rather retain control of their trip than let AI make decisions for them. Travelers were more comfortable with AI using stated preferences and past stay history than online behavior, external data or social data.

Mews surveyed 3,250 travelers in July 2026 across France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, the UK and the US. Spain recorded the most positive overall attitude toward AI at 58%, while 63% of US respondents were comfortable with AI using their past stay history.
