Monteris Medical and Symphony Robotics Partner on AI Micro-Robotic Platform for Brain Surgery
Monteris Medical and Symphony Robotics have announced a strategic collaboration to create an AI-powered micro-robotic platform for laser ablation in the brain, according to a press release. The partnership combines Monteris' laser energy delivery system with Symphony's micro-robotic arm to enhance precision in minimally invasive brain surgery.
Symphony Robotics' technology, developed from research at Case Western Reserve University, uses a flexible robotic arm that operates within an MRI scanner without an engine. This arm can navigate complex brain structures through a five-millimeter opening, allowing curved probe trajectories guided by real-time imaging and AI-based motion planning.
The integration aims to improve treatment accuracy for conditions such as glioblastoma, epilepsy, and other complex brain lesions. Monteris’ NeuroBlate System, which already features robotic control for laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT), will be combined with Symphony’s micro-robotic guidance to increase surgical flexibility and precision.
Symphony’s future development goals include expanding its technology to support stereotactic biopsy, tumor mapping, drug delivery, and electrode placement for deep brain stimulation. The company’s devices have not yet received FDA clearance and are not available for clinical use.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
