Muon Space Introduces Condor Ultra Spacecraft Platform for Large Satellite Constellations
Muon Space has unveiled its Condor Ultra spacecraft platform, designed for large constellations of hundreds to thousands of satellites, announced in a press release. The platform supports communications, sensing, and orbital computing missions and is optimized for stackable deployment from SpaceX's Starship. Configurations for Falcon 9 and Rocket Lab's Neutron launch vehicles are also available.
Condor Ultra provides 20 kilowatts of power, over 18 square meters of Earth-facing payload area, Starlink 25 Gbps network connectivity, and Muon Space's Starlight propulsion system. The first Condor Ultra pathfinder is expected to be delivered in 2028.
The platform is built to support orbital data centers, integrating scalable power generation and high-density computing. It can incorporate the NVIDIA Space-1 Vera Rubin Module, which delivers up to 25 times the AI compute performance of the H100 GPU for orbital workloads.
Muon Space has extended its vertical integration with Condor Ultra by internalizing key subsystems such as avionics, propulsion, communications, and flight software. This approach is intended to improve quality control, optimize system performance, and reduce recurring costs for large-scale satellite deployments.
