NAVER D2SF Invests in Physical AI Startup Khameleon
NAVER D2SF has invested in Khameleon, a physical AI startup focused on robotics for hotel housekeeping, announced in a press release. The pre-seed round includes participation from Base Ventures, Mashup Ventures, The Ventures, Schmidt Ventures, and institutional investors from the U.S. and the U.K.
Khameleon is developing autonomous robots designed to perform housekeeping tasks in North American hotels, where labor shortages and high turnover rates have increased demand for automation. The company’s hardware is built to handle tasks ranging from restroom cleaning to full-room housekeeping and features infrastructure for ultra-low-latency control across varied network environments.
A restroom-cleaning prototype is scheduled for on-site testing in the second quarter of 2026, with plans to expand capabilities to cover complete housekeeping operations. Khameleon's founding team includes former engineers from Tesla, Apple, Meta, and Bear Robotics, bringing experience in computer vision, robot control, and large-scale robotics production.
The investment will support Khameleon’s testing in North American hotels, team growth, and expansion of customer partnerships.
