Nearmap Launches AI Portfolio Benchmarking for Insurers

Nearmap has launched Portfolio Benchmarking, a tool that compares insurer portfolios with property data covering more than 100 million U.S. parcels.

Nearmap announces in a press release the launch of Portfolio Benchmarking, an expansion of its Portfolio Intelligence product for property and casualty insurers. The tool compares an insurer's portfolio with a Nearmap database covering more than 100 million U.S. parcels and about 88% of the U.S. population.

Portfolio Benchmarking uses the Roof Spotlight Index, which applies AI to assess visible roof conditions such as staining, ponding, missing shingles, and other damage. Insurers can compare residential and commercial portfolios at state, county, ZIP code, and neighborhood levels.

The product also provides agency level comparisons against relevant market averages. Nearmap said one regional carrier used its data to negotiate an 8% reduction in probable maximum loss and save $7 million in annual reinsurance premiums.
