Nortek DCC Introduces Skidded CDU for Hyperscale Data Centers
Nortek DCC has launched its Skidded Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU), a new liquid cooling solution engineered for high-density AI, HPC, and hyperscale deployments, announced in a press release. This next-generation CDU is designed to scale beyond 5 megawatts, providing precision cooling while reducing on-site labor and accelerating deployment timelines.
The skidded CDU offers a massive capacity, configurable from 1MW to over 5 MW, with the flexibility to scale beyond 10 MW using interconnected modules. It simplifies deployment by reducing the number of units required, thus cutting installation labor and speeding up commissioning. The unit is custom and configurable, with customer-specific piping, valve, and service access options to ensure compatibility with diverse facility designs.
Key features of the skidded CDU include an open-frame design for superior serviceability, built-in redundancy with N, 2N, and N+1 configurations, and energy efficiency through variable-speed pumps and precision controls. These features enable data center operators to optimize performance, reduce operating costs, and adapt to evolving cooling requirements efficiently.
