Nutrient Launches Data Extraction API for Enterprise Documents

Nutrient's Data Extraction API converts PDFs, scans, images and Office files into structured JSON or Markdown, with source citations and confidence signals.

Nutrient makes its Data Extraction API generally available, the company announced in a press release. The service converts PDFs, scans, images and Office files into spatial JSON or Markdown for AI agents, retrieval augmented generation systems and document automation.

The API can extract fields defined through JSON Schema and return confidence signals, page references, bounding boxes and source citations. It supports more than 100 OCR languages and detects tables, forms, formulas, charts, handwriting, checkboxes and headings. Results marked as fuzzy matches or not found can be sent for human review.

Nutrient offers the service through a REST API, Studio, implementation services and interactive demos. New accounts receive 5,000 extraction credits per month at no cost and without a credit card.
