Nuvoton and Qualcomm Collaborate on SoC Solutions for XR Glasses
Nuvoton Technology has partnered with Qualcomm Technologies to strengthen its system on chip business for tethered XR glass applications, announced in a press release. The collaboration combines Nuvoton's low power XR focused SoCs with Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR platforms to improve performance and accelerate development for industrial and enterprise use.
The companies aim to address challenges in XR glasses such as weight, battery life, and comfort. By integrating Snapdragon Reality Elite with Nuvoton's SoC, the design enables a scalable optical see through architecture. This setup allows compute intensive tasks to remain on a host device while delivering high quality, low latency display and sensor data to lightweight glasses.
According to the announcement, the collaboration provides a balanced design that supports flexibility and power efficiency. It is intended to help manufacturers reduce development effort and bring new XR devices to market more quickly.
