OpenAI Unveils Advanced o3-pro Model for ChatGPT

OpenAI has introduced its latest AI model, o3-pro, which is described as the company's most advanced model to date. The o3-pro model is now available to all Pro users in ChatGPT and through the API, as announced by OpenAI on their social media platform.

Built on the foundation of the o3 model, which was launched earlier this year, o3-pro offers significant improvements in performance, particularly in complex domains such as mathematics, physics, and programming. The model is designed to tackle problems methodically, allowing for greater accuracy and consistency.

The o3-pro model is equipped with powerful tools that enable it to browse the internet, interpret images, work with files, run Python code, and remember user preferences. However, these advanced capabilities mean that responses may take longer to generate compared to the previous o1-pro model. Despite this, the tradeoff is considered worthwhile for tasks where precision is more important than speed.

OpenAI has also implemented a rigorous "4/4 reliability" standard for the o3-pro model, requiring it to provide accurate answers in all four trials of a given question. The model is priced at $20 per million tokens for input and $80 per million tokens for output, making it significantly more affordable than the o1-pro model.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
