Oracle and Buck Institute Use Health Data for Aging Research
Oracle Corporation and the Buck Institute for Research on Aging announced a collaboration in a press release to study early indicators of age related disease. The institute will use Oracle Life Sciences Data Intelligence, which includes more than 122 million deidentified longitudinal health records and analytics tools. Oracle said that figure was current as of May 2026 and that patients appearing in multiple health systems may be counted more than once.
Researchers will build patient cohorts and examine clinical changes that may signal frailty or chronic disease years before onset. They plan to create a statistically validated model that predicts which patients face the greatest risk and when.
The work will also support efforts to qualify an FDA grade Intrinsic Capacity Score that measures physical and mental capacity for healthy aging. The research is part of the Stanford University led THRIVE consortium under the ARPA-H PROSPR program and received partial funding from ARPA-H.
