PayerWatch Introduces AI-Assisted Appeals in Veracity Platform
PayerWatch has announced the integration of AI-assisted appeal drafting within its Veracity platform, achieving 96% accuracy on Emergency Department Level-of-Care downgrades, announced in a press release. This new feature allows for the creation of first drafts in approximately three minutes, which are then verified by clinicians before submission.
The Veracity platform is designed to be EMR-agnostic, integrating seamlessly with existing workqueues and payer submission channels without the need for replatforming. The AI system assembles the necessary facts and drafts the appeal, which is then reviewed by a clinician to ensure accuracy and completeness.
PayerWatch offers flexible operating models for using the Veracity platform, including in-house review, co-review, and managed options for more complex denials. The company plans to expand the platform's capabilities with upcoming modules for Clinical Validation and Medical Necessity, which will also employ a human-in-the-loop approach.
The AI-assisted appeal drafting feature is currently available for U.S. health systems, with further enhancements expected soon.
