PCI unveils AI rail inspection systems at InnoTrans 2026

PCI Technology Group introduced railway inspection systems that use multispectral sensing, robots and AI analysis, and signed a European market agreement with RPS.

PCI Technology Group unveiled a portfolio of railway inspection systems at InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin and signed a cooperation agreement with German railway supplier RPS, the company said in a press release.

The products include a multispectral system for inspecting pantographs and overhead lines, a magnetic flux leakage system for finding rail defects, an ultrasonic guided wave system for monitoring rail breaks, and a portable device for measuring rail temperature and stress. The systems combine multispectral cameras, inspection robots, large vision models and multimodal visual analysis to detect risks across metro, intercity, high speed and freight railways.

PCI and RPS plan to pursue European projects involving pantograph and overhead line monitoring, obstacle detection and underfloor inspection robots. Their work will cover upgrades to existing railway lines and equipment for new construction.
