PDW Adds Booz Allen Autonomy Software to AM Drones
Performance Drone Works is integrating mission autonomy software from Booz Allen Hamilton into its AM drones, the company said in a press release. The software is powered by Shield AI's Hivemind and supports autonomous perception and operator authorized effects delivery while leaving mission decisions with the operator.
Controlled testing began September 30, and general availability is planned for the first quarter of 2027. The companies also plan to develop more autonomous software options and extend the software to PDW's C100 aircraft in 2027.
PDW is also adding Booz Allen's secure fleet update product across its aircraft portfolio. It provides a central point for deploying software, managing configurations, and monitoring distributed fleets, including during disrupted or limited connectivity. The system is designed to reduce approved software update cycles from weeks or months to hours.
