Poseidon Aerospace Prepares Egret Cargo Drone for First Unmanned Flight

Oct 27, 2026
Poseidon Aerospace plans to conduct the first unmanned test flight of its Egret cargo aircraft in Oregon by the end of 2026.

Poseidon Aerospace is developing the Egret autonomous cargo aircraft, with its first unmanned test flight planned in Oregon by the end of 2026, according to Digital Today. The aircraft has a 50 foot wingspan and can carry up to 4,000 pounds, or about 1,814 kilograms.

Egret was designed without a cockpit or pilot life support systems to reduce weight and increase cargo space. During initial testing, a remote pilot at a ground control center can monitor camera feeds and control the engine thrust, flaps and rudder.

The aircraft is designed for a maximum cruise speed of 160 knots and a range of at least 1,650 nautical miles. Poseidon Aerospace recently raised $60 million in Series A funding led by TQ Ventures to support flight testing, production line construction and expansion into commercial and military logistics.
