pubX Raises $5 Million and Acquires Compliant

pubX raised a $5 million Series A led by Chicago Ventures and acquired media quality company Compliant. The funding will support its US expansion and development of advertising agents.

pubX raised $5 million in a Series A led by Chicago Ventures and acquired Compliant, the company said in a press release. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

pubX develops buyer and seller agents that transact directly across advertising channels using the open Ad Context Protocol. It will add Compliant's media quality and governance signals to the agents' purchasing decisions.

Compliant will retain its name and operate as a pubX company under CEO Jamie Barnard. Barnard will also become pubX's President of Global Demand Growth, while the funding will support US expansion, its demand side business, agent development and the integration of Compliant's technology.
