PwC survey finds AI use rising as training access falls

PwC said in a press release that 64% of workers used AI at work during the past 12 months, up 10 percentage points from the previous year. Daily generative AI use increased from 14% to 22%, while 59% expect to use AI tools more during the next 12 months.

Daily AI users were more confident about job security than infrequent users, at 68% compared with 57%. They were also more likely to seek a promotion, trust senior management and believe they could learn new skills.

Access to learning and development resources fell from 59% to 51%. Among the 56% of workers whose skills are less scarce and whose AI skills remain limited, only two in five said they had the resources they needed. Meanwhile, 29% of workers with scarce skills and strong AI capabilities said they were very or extremely likely to change employers within a year.

The survey collected responses from 49,364 workers across 48 countries and regions and 29 industries in May and June 2026.
