Q.ANT Launches Open Source SDK for Photonic Computing

Q.ANT released an open source software development kit for building applications for its photonic Native Processing Units. The toolkit includes C and Python APIs, examples, documentation, and a CPU based simulator.

Q.ANT launches an open source software development kit for its photonic Native Processing Units, the company said in a press release. The toolkit gives developers C and Python APIs, sample applications, documentation, and a simulation backend that runs on a standard CPU.

The simulator lets developers build and validate applications without photonic hardware. Included examples compare classical neural networks with networks using photonic native operations across parameter count, accuracy, functional approximation, and training loss.

Q.ANT plans to offer access to its hardware through the IONOS cloud and through Native Processing Server installations on customer premises. Its accelerators use Thin Film Lithium Niobate photonic integrated circuits for AI and high performance computing workloads.
