Raymond Opens University Research Program for AI and Robotics Proposals

Raymond Corporation will accept proposals from North American universities for research into logistics, material handling, AI and robotics. The program offers up to $500,000 in grant funding for its 2026 to 2027 cycle.

In a press release, Raymond Corporation announces that its 2026 to 2027 University Research Program funding cycle will open on October 1. The program supports research into supply chains, logistics and material handling technology at North American universities.

Research topics include embedded AI, warehouse automation, humanoid robotics, cybersecurity, sensor fusion, operator assistance and interaction between humans and machines. A previous project at Rochester Institute of Technology developed a structured gesture vocabulary for communication between workers and autonomous mobile robots, covering commands, worker intentions and acknowledgment signals.

Concept papers are due December 31, 2026, followed by full applications on February 28, 2027. Raymond plans to select projects in May 2027. The cycle offers up to $500,000 in grant funding, with selected proposals eligible for up to $250,000 over one year.
