Replit Makes OpenAI Its Default Model Partner Over Anthropic

Oct 17, 2026
Replit has selected OpenAI as its preferred partner for Replit Agent, while Anthropic models remain available to users.

Replit made OpenAI its preferred partner for powering Replit Agent and made ChatGPT the default option, TechCrunch reports. CEO Amjad Masad, speaking on stage at TechCrunch Disrupt, said the choice reflected performance, cost and the companies' partnership.

Masad initially said Replit was no longer working with Anthropic. He later clarified that customers can still select Anthropic's Claude models and said Replit remains model agnostic.

A person familiar with the arrangement disputed Masad's initial statement and said the Anthropic partnership remained in place. Replit previously relied on Claude models for its platform, and Masad said the company had recently been one of Anthropic's five largest customers.

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
