Rishi Sunak Takes Advisory Roles at Microsoft and Anthropic
Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has accepted senior advisory roles with Microsoft Corporation and AI company Anthropic. The appointments were confirmed through documents published by the UK’s Advisory Committee on Business Appointments.
Sunak will serve in part-time positions focused on providing strategic perspectives on macroeconomic and geopolitical trends. Both roles are described as internally oriented and do not involve advising on UK-specific policy or lobbying government officials.
At Microsoft, Sunak will contribute to discussions on global strategy and is scheduled to speak at the company’s annual summit. His work with Anthropic will involve advising the leadership team on international economic and strategic matters.
Sunak, who remains a Member of Parliament, stated that all proceeds from the advisory positions will be donated to The Richmond Project, a charity he co-founded with his wife to support numeracy education. Both companies confirmed that the appointments comply with the conditions set by the UK’s business appointments watchdog.
