Rocket One Partners with Placeve to Expand AI Infrastructure for Defense and Space
Rocket One Inc. has partnered with Placeve to advance its AI infrastructure platform for defense, space, and intelligent edge computing, announced in a press release. The collaboration includes an initial investment by Rocket One in Placeve and aims to develop high performance, energy efficient computing solutions for demanding environments.
The two companies will jointly evaluate Placeve's Fourier Processing Unit based processor architecture, software platform, and machine learning technologies. Engineering efforts will focus on hardware integration, software optimization, workload acceleration, power efficiency improvements, testing, and deployment for both terrestrial and orbital systems.
Placeve's photonic electronic AI processor technology is currently being tested through NASA's Materials International Space Station Experiment program on the International Space Station. The partnership aligns Rocket One’s platform strategy with Placeve’s specialized processor and software expertise to accelerate commercialization of low power AI computing solutions for defense and space markets.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
