Salience Labs raises $125 million for optical AI data center switches
Salience Labs raised $125 million in an oversubscribed Series B round, according to Tech.eu. Bullhound Capital led the round, with participation from AMD Ventures, Intel Capital, SBI Group, Hudson River Trading, British Business Bank and existing investors.
Salience Labs develops optical circuit switching chips that connect GPUs across multiple data center racks. Its architecture routes data optically to reduce the electrical conversions used in conventional networks.
The company demonstrated a 64 port optical photonic switch at ECOC 2026 and is developing 128 port and 256 port versions. It will use the funding to expand manufacturing, deploy its technology, develop additional switches, grow its engineering team and enter more geographic markets.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
