SciBase and Castle Biosciences Begin Study on Predicting Atopic Dermatitis Flares
SciBase and Castle Biosciences have enrolled the first patient in a new clinical study focused on predicting flare-ups in atopic dermatitis, announced in a press release.
The multicenter prospective study, named DETECT-AD, will evaluate SciBase's electrical impedance spectroscopy method for its ability to predict the onset of flares in patients with atopic dermatitis. The study aims to identify early signs of flare-ups to support proactive care and improve patient management.
Atopic dermatitis is a chronic skin condition characterized by alternating periods of remission and flare-ups. Current treatments are typically reactive, addressing symptoms after they appear. The DETECT-AD study seeks to move toward predictive and personalized care by using early detection data.
Pia Renaudin, CEO of SciBase, said the enrollment of the first patient marks a key milestone in the company's collaboration with Castle Biosciences to enhance management of atopic dermatitis.
