Scout AI Secures U.S. Army Contract for Autonomous Vehicle Integration
Scout AI Inc. has been awarded a significant contract under the U.S. Army's Unmanned Systems (UxS) initiative, announced in a press release. The contract involves integrating Scout AI's autonomy platform, Fury, onto Army-furnished Infantry Squad Vehicles (ISVs) to demonstrate the full range of UxS autonomy requirements.
The program is set to span a 16-month performance period, with the potential for the Army to procure units valued up to $150 million. Fury, the core of Scout's solution, is a multi-domain foundation model for defense robots. It is a camera-only autonomy system that combines Vision-Language-Action (VLA) reasoning with high-rate commercial off-the-shelf hardware, offering real-time human-like judgment.
For this initiative, Scout AI is collaborating exclusively with Textron Systems, which will lead vehicle integration. Additionally, Edge Case Research will provide independent safety case validation to ensure Fury meets the Army's safety requirements for fielding autonomy.
