Siemens to Acquire Precision Innovations for AI Chip Design Tools
Siemens has signed an agreement to acquire Precision Innovations, a privately held electronic design automation company, according to a press release. The acquisition expands Siemens' EDA portfolio with AI powered system on a chip planning tools that enable semiconductor teams to optimize power, performance, and area earlier in the design process.
Precision Innovations develops software based on the open source OpenROAD framework, allowing engineers to evaluate design feasibility, reduce iterations, and accelerate time to market as system on a chip architectures become more complex. The company’s solutions support AI driven chip planning and design exploration.
Siemens stated that Precision Innovations will be integrated into its Digital Design Creation software suite. The addition will complement Siemens’ existing digital design and verification tools, providing a unified workflow that spans chip architecture, implementation, and silicon lifecycle management.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
