Siemens and Delta Partner on Modular Power Systems for Data Centers
Siemens has entered a partnership with Delta Electronics to develop modular, prefabricated power systems for data centers in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. The companies said the collaboration is designed to cut data center deployment time by up to 50 percent and capital expenditures by as much as 20 percent.
The solution integrates Siemens' expertise in electrical infrastructure design with Delta’s uninterruptible power supply systems, batteries, and thermal management technology. Each unit will be produced as a containerized module—referred to as SKIDs or eHouses—allowing for prefabrication, pre-testing, and plug-and-play installation on-site.
According to the announcement, the modular systems could also reduce carbon emissions by up to 27 percent. The design process will use Building Information Modeling (BIM) to enable real-time data integration into building management systems, supporting faster troubleshooting and optimized operations over the system’s lifecycle.
Siemens has been expanding its focus on the data center industry, following the introduction of its prefabricated data center module offering earlier this year.
