Silicon Labs Expands AI Developer Tools for IoT
Silicon Labs announced in a press release an expansion of its developer platform for building IoT devices and managing AI at the edge. The Simplicity AI SDK is now in public beta, with support for GitHub Copilot, Cursor and Codex.
The SDK initially supports Bluetooth LE workflows including project configuration, building, flashing, debugging, documentation search and hardware interaction. A planned Hardware Intent Agent will use product requirements, schematics and other documents to configure pins, peripherals and software, then check the result for conflicts and missing constraints. An alpha release is planned for January 2027.
Silicon Labs also launched an open source community beta for Bluetooth LE, allowing developers to review sample applications, report issues and contribute code through GitHub. Its edge AI tools can now connect with Databricks, where customers can collect device data, train models and use the Silicon Labs ML Profiler to estimate model memory and processor requirements.
